The final bout of the second season of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) in the Cruiserweight category (first heavy weight -90.7 kg.) Between Cuban Yuniel Dorticos (24-1, 22 KOs) and Mairis Briedis (26-1, 19 KOs) from Latvia will be held on December 14, 2019, according to ESPN.
According to this resource, the bout will take place in Riga, Latvia
At stake, this final bout of the second WBSS season, there will be three champion titles at once: WBO Mairis Briedis, IBF Yuniel Dorticos and the vacant WBC belt.
The supposedly decisive fight will take place at Arena Riga, where the fighters held their semi-final fights: Mairis Briedis passed the scandal Krzysztof Glowacki (31-2, 19 KOs) from Poland, and Yuniel Dorticos brightly knocked out the previously unbeaten American Andrew Tabiti (17-1, 13 KO).
We recall that the semi-final fight of Mairis Briedis (26-1, 19 KOs) with the Pole was overshadowed by several “muddy” situations, however, the Krzysztof Glowacki team’s protest (lost ahead of schedule in the 3rd round) on the cancellation of the result was not satisfied. More precisely, judging by today’s decision of the WBO, partially satisfied.
“The WBO Champions Committee strongly recommends that the winner of the Super Series within 120 days after the end of the tournament defend the WBO title against Krzysztof Glowacki,” said Luis Batista Salas, chairman of this structure.
The intrigue in all this, of course, exists and remains only to wait for the final fight!
DO NOT MISS IT!
